2020 Colt Python cylinder binding issue & fix

I have been using the pictured two 2020 Colt Python revolvers (4 & 6”) quite a bit for close to two years now.
Recently, the 3” version started to have issues with the cylinder binding when used in the double-action mode, and only noticeable when the trigger stroke was much slower than my normal speed. This was initially brought to my attention when a lady was firing the revolver whose hand strength was not as great as mine, and before I had never noticed. I checked the 4” gun as a reference, and it had no such issue, no matter how slowly the trigger was brought through full cycle.
The binding occurred intermittently, and was not isolated to any particular chamber. I checked for lead, powder fowling, dirt, etc. on face of the cylinder and forcing cone, and there was no binding as a result of that. I ensured that the revolver was properly oiled, and that didn’t make a difference.
Turning to one of the Colt Internet forums, I read that several other users had experienced the exact same issue, and the simple fix was to check the three exterior screws to ensure they were properly tightened. SURE ENOUGH, after removing the stocks, the single screw under the left stock was loose, and the other screw just forward and above the trigger holding the side plate was as well. The right side screw adjacent to the serial number was tight, and good to go. After tightening the loose screws, PROBLEM SOLVED! 😎 NO MORE BINDING!

I’ve never had that issue with any of the numerous S&W’s I use, so I figured the Ca Guns forum might benefit from this simple, but obvious fix.
