Event 2 / 3 Gun Stage ideas

I help run some training every month at my local range. Needing ideas for short stages i can set up.

Limited to 100 yards, and can only shoot directly down range. We have a mix of steel and paper targets we can use. Trying to avoid Stand And Deliver type events and modernize the group a bit.

Whats yalls favorite sub-30 round count stages youve ran?

These are some of the stages ive designed

2 targets at 50y, engage with rifle, meanuver around barrel wall, engage 2 targets at 10y with pistol. 2 rounds each target.

3 targets at 10 yards. 1 round on each target, reload, 1 round on each target. Done with pistol, then rifle. El presidente drill

1 target at 40 yards. 2 shots, then move forward 10 yards, repeat for 30 yards. Emgage platerack offset. Rifle only.

5 targets at variety distances. Pistol only. Shooter carrys a rock in one arm. 2 hits per target, must move laterally to engage targets behind barrels.

Pull out all the complications and setup paper as no shoots.

Make it a head game instead of mindless hosing. Vary speed, expectations, make it interesting.

When I shot multi gun I had this stage idea that I thought would be fun.

Shooter starts behind something that blocks his view from the first shooting area, like a large cardboard “door” that they have to push in. Behind it is 8 or so targets, 3 or so are randomly set up by non shooters and 5 or so are no shoots/penalties. Moves to another area that is out of view and again X number of targets out of X selected by the non shooters. Targets can be overlapping like hostage setup. If there is space then do one more, but do a gun switch to shotgun plates where the targets/ penalties are randomly mixed together by the non shooters.

I miss multigun.

I've shot the same type of blockout stages in multi gun.

I gravitated away from pistol focused events for reasons of variation.

Cleared/empty elements from Brutality matches is something I'd like to see breakup the trend towards running backwards or cross stage sprints to get to you next lane. Instead of say 6 bays setup for some speedy individual runs combine 2 bays. Then flip the paper around to mess with the memory stage mechanics. You basically 2x your stages that way.

Is this game prep or tactics? Because IMO, you can’t do both. I personally lean to tactics and then a game, but that’s me.

There are thousands of different stages on trident stage designer for you to sort through, and it’s a rabbit hole you’ll spend hours searching and thinking about what works or you.
