11.5 uppers?

I’m looking at 11.5 uppers right now I’m 50/50 on Geissele and BCM, are there any other contenders?

Lower is a pistolized Griffin MK2, SSA-E, with H2 buffer.

For the money you’d spend I find it’s advantageous to build the upper. If you don’t want to build one I’d go geissele.

Comp mag since when I use my rifle I take it out of state.

Are you making an SBR out of state by putting the 11.5" barrel on a rifle?
Hopefully you SBR'd it in the state you use it as an SBR.

Geissele, Knights Armament, Centurion, or Daniel Defence. BCM 11.5 are not known for their accuracy.

Are you making an SBR out of state by putting the 11.5" barrel on a rifle?
Hopefully you SBR'd it in the state you use it as an SBR.

I am making a pistol, my lower has a SBA6 brace. Gun range doesn’t care and other place I shoot at is out of state with better laws but I can’t move there yet because of family reasons.

Just because you put a brace on a lower doesn't make it a pistol, you do know that right?

Is it a pistol lower or rifle lower before the accessories and parts you put on it?

MCX Spear upper works well, I have a few of them and it’s nice to be able to fold the stock away.
I have the PWS 14.5 and 16 piston guns as well. They are both very soft shooting and have been reliable.

I would personally stay away from the POF pistons. I could never get the one I had to run right.

Couple guys on my team got them back in the day to take on mission and they were not reliable at all. Constant cycling issues.

I'm not sure the OP said anything about a piston upper.

On a separate note the Spear upper is heavy, so if weight is a concern I would keep that in mind.

Get a Centurion barrel and stick it in a matching Griffin upper receiever. I have a Griffin MK 2 lower and there's too much free play with a BCM upper for my taste that I had to get shims for the take down pins - same upper fits fine with aero, JT, and other lowers I have.
