I have a garage full of tools and too much time on my hands so I picked up a rmr cut slide with stripped female threads in the posts and am going to attempt to fix it. The ways to fix it range from janky to super janky and I was wondering if anybody has first hand knowledge on what the best options are.
So far I've considered:
JB weld and retap: will work but is it strong enough? Find out next time on dragonball z (maybe)
Brazing: not really feasible since you have to heat up the work piece
Mig welding: maybe? not sure if I'll be able to get the wire down into the bottom and if the posts will last.
Tig welding: yea but will lose the posts.
helicoil: same as tig but easier.
