SMLE, first time shooting it . Such a fabulous gun to shoot! How do I get it out?

You should have a broken shell extractor in your range kit. A wooden dowel can also sometimes work by tapping out from muzzle.

So I used another round to jam the stuck case onto the new cartridge then mortared it out. You can use pliers to pry and rip the separated case off. Use PPU Brass! It's got a thicker rim so headspace issues should go away!

I’ve had my eye out for .303 components for years. This was the first brass to come up. When I find a gun I want, first I start collecting dies and components.

On an aside, the enfield that I finally got is rusted, sporterized, ridden hard and put away wet. That said, I absolutely love shooting that rifle. Even with the 100 pound trigger LOL. I only had a 35 yard bay but it grouped under 1/2 inch. Rather impressive.

I've got a couple sport jobs picked up for dirt. The #4 MK1/2 can be saved (shown with an Eddystone sport than can be salvaged), no metal cut. The other .303 not so much, barrel chop with brake, Parker-Hale hooded ramp front, 5 round mag, clean lines (nicely done wood butcher job). With a barrel band sling it'll look safariesque. What about jamming a 30 cal jag with 2 or 3 patches down the muzzle? The previous rounds extracted quite easily.

Here is my enfield. I found this ATI stock on the shelf of a LGS, covered in dust I convinced them that nobody is ever going to buy it. $50

I still want an authenticish example of an enfield in my collection though

I also have a '67 Ishapore 2A1 7.62X51 that came to me (for dirt off Calguns) in an ATI that was a pretty shoddy fit. I floated the barrel with a smidgen of up pressure, added bipod, 5 round mag, pulled the sights, cheek riser, camo sling, big cheapanses glass, (6X32X50 illuminated green or red). I have #1 furniture to resto but seems like a waste, doesn't bother me as is. Shoots Indian NATO milsurp FMJ decent at a hunnerd yards, if you go slow. PAX

Well, I did manage to get all the rust off of it and the ATI stock does fit quite nicely. There is pitting but all the proof marks and serials number are easily legible. It’s a good shooting gun and suprisingly enjoyable to operate. I wold like to find a No-Go gauge to check it with though.

Turned out nice. If you blow up the picture of my chop job, you'll see a sticky backed foam pad on the butt you can shape to the ATI cheek rest for a little cushion.
I know it's blasphemous, but the ATI looks passable and works. Makes for an inexpensive all-weather rifle you don't have to worry about hurting, especially for a pre-Bubbad gun. PAX

Actually, it came out very nice, though I am still wanting for a WWII example of an enfield but this gun shoots great. I made 20 rounds each for this and my marlin 94’. It was only when I looked at the ammo boxes that I noticed they were both labeled the same: 150 grain interlock 27 grain IMR 3031. Literally the same load as a 30-30 just with a spitzer VS RN bullet LOL. When I make ammo, I label what is in it.

I have go, no-go and field gauges for 303 British but I don't loan them out.
Bring the gun in-question over with you on your next visit and I can check it.
