Now you have me intrigued about FN49s.

And a SVT

FN 49 is one of my favorites. Sadly, mine is the Egyptian 8mm variant.

Don't despair, any is better than none and if yours has rails so much the better. If your barrel is shot out, Numrich and SARCO had them for a hunnerd bucks.. Mine is a crowned mismatched King Farouk ugly mongrel dog but a great shooter. PAX

All very nice. I have always wanted an M1 but couldn't afford to feed it.

The barrel is good and it has the rail cut. I need to work up some 8mm hand-loads for her. I don't trust my old Turkish surplus rounds. I'll just use the projectile from that ammo.

My M1 came with 300 rds on clips in bandoleers as part of the deal. I got it from the same FFL bud I got the SVT from, plus he threw in an HR Sportsman .22 revolver I'd been pinning over. I'd been scarfing up 06 for years, I've got an .03-A4 sport and a 1917 Eddystone as well.
HD you got a potential sniper with those rails, can't hurt to put glass on it at the least vs actual snipper repo. PAX

I like those FN 49's and SVT's
Here's some of my old wood and steel...
Top to bottom....
H&R from DCM for $165. Shot matches at the old Lake Elsinore Sportsman Assoc. to qualify.
Springfield from Fed Ord. I can't remember why I bought this as I bought the H&R around same time. It did come with an uncut op rod.
M1D from CMP. It was the first release so a little more expensive than the mass release some months later. I had to track down all the accessories.
M1D originally from DCM. Complete with all accessories. I bought this as it looked like the CMP was going to run out of rifles before I got one. The day after I bought this, the M1D from CMP arrived.
