When you have direct evidence of gifts and services being received as is the case with Clarence Thomas and other SCOTUS justices, it's appropriate to impugn their reputation(s) and even impeach, convict and remove the justice(s). Unless there is empirical evidence of corruption, it is destructive to our system of justice to smear judges just because you disagree with their rulings.

99% of all cases in federal court have nothing to do with politics. Try going to a federal courthouse, and listen to a few hours of cases.

A lot of political cases are also decided in state courts.
