The Shield does have a TLR-6 attached, but the P2000SK is much thicker and has a wedge attached so it’s pretty fair. Shield is 9 rounds 9mm and the P2000SK is 11 rounds 9mm for this comparison. I was surprised that they’re only negligibly different in carry weight.

Just as a comparison,

S&W Bodyguard 2.0 non-comp + 11 HP rounds + basic IWB holster came out to be 1 lb 1.3 oz (490 grams). Without the holster, 15.1 oz.
My G26 with 11 HP rounds with Tenicor Velo 5 weighs 1 lb 14.3 oz. Without the holster, 1 lb 10.6 oz.

Capacity is an interesting game in 2026. Once you read into the dimension and weight you'll see why the P365 is the most popular gun in America because 17+1 in that package is amazing for CCW. From my inventory the Staccato 24C holds 15+1 in a much larger format. The P229 weights about 50% more and holds 2 fewer rounds as well.

HK's classic pistols are in need of of updates. Factory pic rails, optic cuts and modern magazine sizes.

There's no fighting the modern micro compacts like the P365, Shield Plus/X and Hellcats when it comes to CCW.

Slightly disagree, IRL more than 15 rounds probably won't change anything in a real outcome, and micro guns shoot worse. Not sure why but somehow my P2000SK feels more comfortable than my Shield despite being larger. The shield is braindead easy to conceal though. Lately I've been enjoying the Walther PDP compact for carry
