How many of you have tried these SPP? July 4th sales are here and 3k SPP for servicios Adv at $90 shipped/no Haz seems like a great deal

Mag tech $95 for 2k SPP shipped/w HAZ

I’ve been readying many good things on both brands. Anyone prefer one over the other???

These work well, only had a few light strikes so I mainly use this for practice ammo. My primer express doesn't like them as much, they're a bit heavy and don't flip as well compared to cci's, winchesters, or federals. The prices are pretty solid for though...

If you're doing level II or level III, i'd go with the better primers, but for training and level I's they're gtg.

Ive had servicios FTF here and there if they aren't seated exactly right when a primer pocket is tight or something but the magtechs have been better I got 10k a few months back. I use CCIs for "important" rounds still though. Just make sure they are seated really well, if picking up range brass it can be good to gage the primer pockets because brass like S&Bs can need swaging.

I'll second what ikeo1 said. Now is obviously a great time to stock up on primers since they've fallen quite a bit in price. Even if you get a couple light strikes out of 100, that's still a great price for primers that can be used as practice ammo. I wouldn't hesitate. For match ammo, use better primers.

servicios have been fine for me. but I am a plinker/range shooter kinda guy. I dont have any fantasies that I am John wick and nor do I shoot competitively. also I tend to prime off of press even tho I load progressively because if there's a stage where things mess up it's priming.

It's a USPSA thing. Level 1 matches are smaller, local matches; Level 2 are major matches and sectionals (big matches with prize tables, etc); Level 3 are area matches (really big matches for one of the eight USPSA areas); Level 4 are national matches (Super Bowl).

If you are serious about improving yourself as a pistol shooter, begin shooting USPSA. There is no better way to discover your shortcomings as a shooter.

That said, I never use my practice ammo (ammo loaded with questionable primers) even for level 1 matches. When shooting any match, I want to get the most accurate metric of where I stand against the people that I am shooting against. I can't do that if I'm getting preventable pistol malfunctions caused by loading crappy primers.

the high shipping is because of the hazmat charge but yeah it's more like 4 cents per primer. Still not bad for modern times but like I said I prefer magtech, I usually get stuff from Miwall since they ship a lot of it from Grass Valley and it comes in like a day to Sacramento, they have some killer deals on powder sometimes too
