Happened to go to the Escondido gun show and brought my slide becasue I wanted to get an optic. Figured making sure one fit the way I like before purchase.I was at a vendor and before I knew it he grabbed the slide and started to attempt to remove the screws. It didn't seem kike he even had the correct torx at first so I took the slide away and yes he did strip it slightly. I was basically done with that vendor and walked away.

when I got home I used the proper tools and got it out.

When I put an optic on do the new screws come torx or allen? If I am going to locktite I think I prefer an allen.
What have you guys found the best as far for reliability on not having issues removing down the road?

Depends what optic you end up using. You shouldn't have issues with either if you use the correct tools, blue loctite, and torque to spec. No need to constantly take the optic on and off anyway.

Is there better quality hardware, maybe a harder material?
As an example like deciding to use a grade 8 bolt on a project.
