San Jose Raises CCW total cost to over $2000

Same, but wasnt answering you. In my experience when people put off getting there permit in the end they never carry.

My wife and I have only returned to firearms in the last 8mo. So it isn’t a matter of lingering.

There is the cost factor of course. And time commitment to courses.

If I get CCW in the near future. It will be good for 2 years. If I wait til next year it will be good for 3 years.

I will admit that I am on the fence about CCW.
Most of my time is spent working in Napa, but I live in Vallejo. Usually shop in American Canyon. (Even the Safeway gas station in Am Can had a fatal shootout last year.) I live in a city with violent crime and a police force on life support. Most of the people here in Vallejo are good folk; but there is plenty of crime, prostitution, poverty here.

Having written all that out. Maybe CCW is a good idea.. but where there is more danger, there is more risk of me making a difficult decision with a firearm.

Well, after a 6mos wait and $500 fee, I finally received my Free Speech card. It allows me 10 F- You's before I have to renew it. smh

two days of your life and some money to be able to defend yourself and your family all day long? Just commit to the lifestyle, you never know what can happen. Vallejo is sketchy af

Also, to be honest in the moment the decision was not difficult at all. Everything goes to slow motion, I drew so fast, best of my life, when you have that genuine fear for your life it isn't a tough decision, it's me or them. If you have time to sit and think about it then you aren't really in true danger

I carry when I can. Adding J frame this December so I can carry something even less intrusive to my day to day life. It's very comfortable to carry, I tested it at home. Just takes practice to shoot...just like anything else I guess.
