So would you prefer the forum. No one wants to waste each others time, but it undoubtably happens. Ironically, the things you point out means people gotta be somewhat nice to each other. People who leave serial negative feedback will also be identiified as trolls and ultimately ignored and wiped out over time.

The main thing is I get a lot of complaints about buyers/sellers. I want you guys to have the tools and leave me alone. ;)
Personally? I'd prefer just having a forum like CGN did. I understand the feedback system for actual sales, and I'm totally fine with that, it makes perfect sense and was one of the dumber things CGN did in removing theirs. That said, I think having a forum specifically detailed to minor kerfuffles would be better than just allowing anyone to leave public feedback front and center on a profile. At least with the forum, it's optional to view it, with the way it currently sits, it's right there, glaringly staring you in the face, good or bad.

while it seems like it may direct complaints away from you it will probably turn it into responding to complaints about complaints and becoming the arbiter of which feedback is valid or not. People abuse the internet and use stuff like this to trash someone they don't like for valid or invalid reasons. I just expect that people online are flaky, if they stop responding I move on. Actually have had all good experiences with people on here though.

THIS...!

I've done lots of online transactions, with very few issues. Yeah, sometimes people are flaky, there are a few outright scammers that need to be dealt with quickly and harshly. Then there are the people that are just "odd", and can be annoying or a tad more difficult to deal with - the online equivalent of "you're ugly and your mother dresses you funny".

CGN had threads where spittin' matches popped up from time to time, other than being a good excuse to pop a bag of popcorn and enjoy the show, they usually just got erased (rather than leaving "dirty laundry" hanging about), faded into the stacks of messages, and MAYBE there were some bans if one or both parties became "impolite".

Generally, IMO one should always use common sense, treat others as one would want to be treated, and COMMUNICATE honestly and respectfully. Maybe that's to much to expect in "online" interactions, but perhaps it shouldn't be?
