Question Recommendation for CZ Gunsmith in San Diego or LA/OC - Cajun Gun Works Package Install

Looking to have the Cajun Gunworks Pro Package installed on my SP-01 and was hoping someone could recommend a local smith who has experience doing these. I was thinking of sending it either directly to CGW or MK3 in Vegas but wouldn't mind someone local to not have to deal with shipping. Anywhere in the San Diego or Los Angeles / Orange County areas works for me.

While I could always do it myself, I'd just prefer not to 🤣 Any recommendations would be great. Thanks!
 
I’d encourage you to do it yourself if you’re handy. It’s really not that hard. There’s a step by step process with pictures on Brian enos on how to do it. CGW also tech supports if you need help.

I second this. I overhauled my Witness but because not a cz, I used some patriot defense, cgw and czcustoms mix. I also did some light polishing on the trigger assembly. Shoots sooooo nice now

I'm fairly handy but my unsteady hands, failing eyes, and tiny missing springs would probably not make it an enjoyable experience 😜

I've lost my fair share of tiny springs/screws, haha. I could certainly do it myself but to be honest, I'd rather not.

You''ll need to call ahead for a drop-off appointment, but they're available on short notice. You won't need to book it out very far in advance - a few days is good. All of the work I've had them do has been very good.

I just got my gun back from CGW after having them install a Pro Package for my SP-01. They did an amazing job of course, it's their product and they have the expertise and the tools needed to do the job correctly. It took a long time...maybe a couple months (I'd have to check dates) but I had peace of mind knowing it would be correct and I didn't need to buy any specialty tools or worry if I was making mistakes. CGW also polishes internals during the install, a nice bonus.

If you have the time and backup guns, this may be the way to go. They do charge for labor, but you'll have the aforementioned peace of mind knowing it'll be done right by CGW themselves.

Of course you can get someone else to do it who has the right tools, good eyes, and steady hands. That's always a good option and there won't be so much wait time.

Yeah, I have plenty to keep me occupied. If you don't mind me asking, what was the turnaround time? And was shipping directly to you, or does it have to go through an FFL?

I would say it was about 1.5 months. I shipped the gun out from my local FFL and received it the same way. You can pre-order the FedEx return label when you make your initial order so CGW can get it back to you. I went for the 2-Day shipping. I'll know a whole lot more this weekend but it already feels a lot better even with snap caps.

Hey man! I had The Gun Doctor in Simi Valley do some cajun work on my SP-01, his name is Ken and he did a great job. His shop is inside Smokin’ Barrel gun range so you can test it there as well.

I do CZ trigger kit installations while-you-wait on a scheduled shop visit.
I have the common cz75 springs that go flying on-hand in-case they do.
Experience mostly stops the springs from going flying but having the spares also seems to keep them from going flying.
Murphy teaches us that it's always the one that you do not have a spare for that goes flying...
 
I had CGW retro my CZ Rami and mill the slide for a Holosun 507. The finished product is amazing and IMHO well worth the expense. The process was simple. I submitted my order, received notification the ship the weapon direct to CGW. Once the project was completed, they shipped the gun back to me. Happy customer.

Those offered gunsmith choices can most likely do a good job. I did the CGW upgrades plus SA and adjustable rear sight on my own. Excellent results. So a decent gunsmith can handle it. Local is beter. Shipping is a hassle in kommiefornia
 
Another option I haven’t used yet but might - if I don’t try it myself - is dual hammer industries, near LAX. I did talk to the owner he owns multiples CZ himself and seemed very passionate.
 
Dual Hammer, the owner Crispy, is a great company. He also competes with CZ's and can tune them up correctly. Randall would be another great option.
