Rangefinder?

Looking to invest into a rangefinder and wanted to get your thoughts and opinions on which are the most reliable, versatile, long lasting, waterproof, 1000yds+ options out there.. there are so many options and choices that I can't pinpoint on the one that I would need for hunting, target, range finding locations on hikes, etc

Budget: doesn't matter im okay spending whatever if it's going to last me a lifetime.

I looked into the maven rf1 and it seems decent with lifetime warranty.. thoughts?

I'm not familiar with the Maven RF1. I looked and it doesn't have onboard ballistics. If you only need a range finder and will use your Kestrel or phone app for the ballistic solution, the RF1 should be fine assuming it's a good LRF.

If you need it to last a lifetime, you probably have to go Vortex. I believe their lifetime applies to electronics.

That being said, I personally use a Sig KILO8K for my mono LRF and I have the Vectronix Vector X 10x42 and the Swarovski EL Range TA 10x42 for my LRF binos.

All of them have onboard ballistics and environmental sensors. Vectronix Vector X and KILO8K use Applied Ballistics and the EL Range is a in-house solver.

I have a Sig Kilo. Works to 1200 yards. Paid just under $200 for it. Handy device. At long range it can be tricky to use as the target is small and hard to center on when hand held.

I have run the range finder binos for the last few years. The Sig 3k worked pretty good and sig has a good quality range finder. I upgraded the the sig 6k binos for the better glass quality. I now have the Vectronix vector x binos and they are great. Way better glass, easy to navigate the HUD, and good rangefinder

I’ve got the Vortex Fury 5000AB, and have been very happy with them. A friend has the Sig Kilo 4K and they’re really nice as well.

I have been thru a few range finders. I like the maven. Good glass controls are easy works well for me.

I have a budget Bushnell hell all the printing has worn off I couldn't tell you the model number it's been dropped ,kicked, thrown in the bag, the truck seat...etc and is still accurate as it was the day I bought it at least 15 years ago.
I use it at the range and hunting maybe I got lucky.

I'm a believer in the buy buy twice rule but I haven't got a reason yet. Just my experience....

I would strongly suggest range finder binos. The only time I prefer a handheld is for bow hunting. Otherwise the binos are great for target shooting, glassing, hunting, and checking out your hot neighbor!

Leica Geovids or Vectronix Terrapin are my buy once cry once call. Leupold or Vortex budget options can definitely do the job just fine but they're not replacing your binos and therefore you're carrying two pieces of gear that could possibly be one.

Also the Steiner stuff looks pretty legit but I can't personally vouch.
