Question Question regarding ccw renewal in solano county

Has anyone recently renewed their CCW in Solano County? Currently waiting on renewal as of 8-24-24 and still haven't had any updated progress on the permitium page as it still says "assigning to processor shortly". I know SB2 added extra BS to the process. I'm curious how long the renewal process was for anyone else? Any helps appreciated.

I’ve renewed twice . Not since SB2. It was previously allowed to get the renewal
Submitted 60 days before expiration. So if you get your class done around 60 days then submit paperwork , you will probably get it before expiration . After Covid, people reported long wait times for renewal so I just did it around the 60 day mark . It took a long time to get the notice last time but my permit didn’t expire.

Solano has ONE dedicated Deputy (Pinder) who is a complete POS. He prides himself in delaying applications are long as possible. In my case 15 months after I applied (and 13 months after my in-person interview) I was notified that it was okay for me to attend class. I moved to a different County 4 months after my initital application (and so informed them). 15 months to get the okay to take the class. Complete bull.

Pinder has been great with me. My first application took 6 months in 2019. Renewals were taking less than 60 days. 2nd time was two weeks. 3rd time under 60. He responds to emails and is very pro 2A. I’ll renew in ‘25 , with new laws in place . I’ll be sure to put in my renewal at the 60 day mark. They were supportive after Freedom Week. Demand is really high. No issues with changing from my P365 to a P365XL after I inquired. He carries a 1911.

Think I’m going to have to email Deputy Pinder about some of my questions. I believe I have a good reason on keeping my CCW and I hope it is enough. I read the 16 hour training and 1 hour mental heath training requirements now.

Use caution! Classes are only good for 90days. If your renewal doesn't get approved before that, you'll need to take the class all over again.
