Projectile suppliers

Hey all

Was just wondering who you are using for projectile suppliers.

I load quite a bit and shoot some steel matches and USPSA

Currently I'm loading blue bullets 124gn RN in 9mm

What other suppliers do I not know about? Just found brass monkey tonight and they look better prices but do not have a 124gn that I can find.

Anyone else I should know about?

I like PD's. When you find them on sale, they're priced similar to Blues but more consistent.

Blue Bullets in 124 or 147 RN for Limited Optics or CO. For limited, 180 grain also Blue Bullets. The blues work well in every gun I've shot with them (I don't shoot open). For the price and quality, I can't see a reason for shooting anything different.

I generally use xtreme heavy plate. I also have a supply of Montana Gold, but unfortunately they are out of business.

I buy most of mine from Powder Valley. They sell Zero brand. One of the types are XTP clones for a lot less than actual XTP. I also use Rim Rock for unjacketed lead.

Brazos is out of business and they are the one 9mm bullet i DO NOT recommend. The coating was not good and lead is soft at the later end of their business run. i bought almost 16k bullets from them and they were great at first few Ks, then near the end, the coating was clearly not covering the whole bullet. They were easily the cheapest bullets out there and they got business because of it. the 357s were good, the 44s were good. 40s good. but the 9mm started leading the hell out of my guns and i started doing bullet tests.. Then I opened up some of the newer bags and found the coating wasn't even covering the whole bullet.

I didn’t know that about Brazos. It’s been awhile since I ordered from them. I never had a problem with them. They only show these wad cutters in stock.

Example of the inconsistency of coating on the 9mm. Just pulled some of these bullets out of the open bag. One bullet clearly has more coating than the others and rest have a lot of grey poking through the gold. And lot of them have mold lines that you can feel.

The 357 RNs are coated fine. The 44swc same. Both of those I was able to push to magnum velocities with no problem... I'm not sure if these bags just got tossed around and some of the coating just rubbed off during shipment. But comparing them to blues bullets and some hitek bullets and my friend's powder coated bullets. The coating on the Brazos bullets are super thin. First batch was like 2018-19 vintage. Then these bags from 2021. I have a feeling they were just rushing these as they got more popular and had bad batches. Sucks because they shot really well and price was good..

I've recently picked up some bullets from Missouri Bullet Company mostly due to the weight; I was looking for a light 38 special.

They use the Hi-Tek 2 Extreme Coating, whatever that means.

SNS casting or T&B bullets have been good to me. Rocky MTN reloading is great as well but I have never ordered pistol bullets from them.

The coating on the Brazos bullets are super thin. I have a feeling they were just rushing these as they got more popular and had bad batches. Sucks because they shot really well and price was good..

Edit: I skipped over where you said Brazos is out of business.

Bought lots of their bullets over the years. Earlier this year they moved production facility, then came back as available. I had made an order for 2k of .45 ACP with them a few months ago on and got charged. No response to email or phone. Had to get a charge-back from Visa.

Sucks, because I bought lots of 9mm and 45 from them for years. I bought some from Hoosier bullets recently.

I bought Hoosier's 124gr. "No groove" 9mm offering me really good accuracy in both my and my son's Glocks.
