Optic iron sight co witness sight pictures

I did a lot of searching to try to find sight pictures of optics and sights using certain plates.

I was finally able to put together what I wanted to try. Was trying to get a low co witness for an eps carry. It might be too low for some but my thought was that 1/3 of a small window was a lot of area to be covering and wanted to see how I liked this or if it really even makes a difference.

What’s your guys take, too low? Any cons in your experience? Haven’t been to the range with it yet to try it out.

Gear:

G19mos
Calculated Kinetics dog tag plate
Front sight Ameriglo .280 height
Rear sight Ameriglo .355 height

Notes: dog tag plate seems thicker than other plates I’ve handled/seen

Maybe we can post real pics of setups for people who are trying to put together their own who don’t know what to get.

I think that’s the perfect setup. A few of mine have absolute cowitness, and I’m not a fan, but still roll with it. I’ll try to post pics later

I run my irons forward of the dot and as low as possible to not obstruct my rds sight picture.

I think I only see about ~2mm of my irons, something like a lower 1/5 cowitness.

I've got a G17 with a direct mounted 509T with lower 1/3rd irons which I like quite a bit. Irons forward truly makes them backup irons. Out of sight, out of mind.
