So, technically if I say I can fit my hand around it, then it counts as a pistol grip and I am noncompliant. So in California, I find it impossible to use and it makes my rifle very weak and difficult to use.

If I took it across state lines to a Nevada firing range, I would keep it because it works great over there. Something about coming across the border however makes it impossible to use as a pistol grip.

yes and no. there's a whole flow chart to it. For instance, my stock isn't adjustable (I can move the pad, but I couldnt collapse it). Also I don't have a foregrip. Those make it not an assault rifle and thus I dont need a fixed mag.

The morons who wrote the legislation wanted to ban things that would make it either concealable or quick to reload. Pick one, but not both.

This conveniently ignores the fact that they aren't focusing on the right weapons. It's about political capital more than anything else.
