Norma 9mm Brass Case - Primer Hole

Hello caguns,
Reloading 9mm for me usually goes without hiccups but encountered this last night; bent the decapping pin of my old Dillon 550 trying to decap a norma case that was in my batch of mixed 9mm cases. Initially thought that it was just another stubborn primer but when I forced the handle to decap, the pin bent instead.
Turns out these norma 9mm cases have smaller diameter primer holes than the usual cases I've used in the past. Found a few more in my batch so I tried decapping them on my RCBS universal decapping die and it worked (due to smaller diameter decapping pin).
So, keep an eye out for these cases with small primer holes ...

I had a batch of once fired brass that had about 2% of these cases in them. Drove me nuts in the beginning...had to decap the whole batch first then run them through the usual process.

Checked out their website and pretty impressive dies using "heat treated and tempered tool steel shaft and pins."

I just built a case sorter (3d printed). Works well and sorts cases based on head stamp- I bought an extra kit and printed extra set of parts- anyone interested just message me. You can train the model for 9mm and the camera will capture the head stamp info and sort in the correct bin.

Checked out their website and pretty impressive dies using "heat treated and tempered tool steel shaft and pins."

They are definitely worth the money. I only bent one pin because there was a rock in the case somehow

Yes most have known this for a while and a lot of guys will process 9mm brass using the mighty armory decapping die. I use one myself, works great
