Next Super Secret Zombie Shoot?

Digging up an old thread here...I haven't been to a SSZS for a long time. The last one I went to was probably in 2016? Maybe earlier? Without giving away the location (if that is still being protected), can anyone confirm that the location of those shoots is no longer listed as BLM land? Looking at the current Barstow Field Office maps it looks like it's listed as "Private" land now. This is the location NE of Barstow that I'm speaking about.
last one I did was 2017. for me, not hard to forget, I was laid off the following Monday.

I recently stopped by the old SSZS spot for some shooting and there weren't any gates stopping me, just some on the side.
There weren't any private property signs either, so I'd be surprised if anyone said anything about it. Usual amounts of trash, brass, etc.

Sad there's no more SSZS, I was the one who donated the zombie target in some of the few early years.
We'd all line up in like a row of 50+ and have a massive firing burst disintegrating that zombie target lol. Good times.

......Honestly, absolutely worst outdoor shooting experience as a solo shooter and especially trying to get to know others. No one seemed welcoming, other than I forget the old dude's name, (the guy who made the shirts, who was not shooting). Only go if you have someone to go with or if you already know people that are going to be there.
That sucks to hear. I went solo way, way back at like the second or third one, and it was very welcoming. Lots of people going solo actually back then. Met some awesome people. The vibe of the whole thing really changed in the last year or two of it, which IHMO is a contributing factor in it not happening anymore.

I went solo as well prob about 2010/2011 and thought it went well too. Could kind of tell where I wanted to hang out at some were quiet type others like to chat and have a good time.

As far as shooting line had a cool group next to me. Guy had some raws like I did he had his sister and her son. I noticed he really didn’t have anything to shoot so handed them my 10/22 and some ammo he had some fun and they were thankful. I really didn’t care for the range type shooting but understood there’s a lot of people and it has to be controlled.

in my limited experience... Shooting isn't a very social thing unless you are part of a group of people you know... out in "The Wild".. unknown shooters are likely to treat strangers with suspicion rather than any sort of "Hey, come shoot with us"...
