I recently went through the 16 hour CCW course with Medicup Consulting. Figured I’d give a quick 2cents opinion for those needing to do initial training or 8 hour renewal.
First off- signing up online was a breeze. Price was competitive. The wildfires in the greater LA area saw the forest service shut down the area where the range is located (Burro Canyon). I reached out by email to ask if they had a contingency plan if the range was closed. The owner of the company responded immediately that they did have a plan in place. Turns out, range was open when my training date arrived. Long story short, they know how to communicate.
Range day at Burro Canyon- Beautiful place! The training staff were organized, professional, informative and safety conscious. All of the staff were very friendly and personable. Just follow safety rules and instructions. There were no “range
s” here and the shooting portion was entirely enjoyable. A great course of training ,most commonly known as “stop the bleed”, was also included. This was also very well instructed. All in all, a fun filled and informative day. Small tip- if you choose this training provider, bring a folding chair and a nice lunch to range day. (You can thank me later
).
Second day- Class room training for the initial training folks. Comfortable indoor room where we discussed legal, moral, safety obligations. Tactical considerations and situational awareness aspects were included. All questions were welcomed and this was another enjoyable day.
Completion certificates were received by email within hours.
I had a great time and would not have changed a thing (besides bringing my folding chair and maybe a fat sub sandwich to range day)
