Note that this would not directly help CA residents, as PC 27585 complicates things for CA residents.

Kostas Moros has already suggested an amended complaint to include a California plaintiff

The CA connection here is the fact that CA law is stricter than Federal law; people will hear about this suit and wonder how it may apply here. Even if it is successful, without some kind of ruling invalidating the CA law, CA residents will not be in an improved position.

And, of course, CA law requiring CA DL/ID as proof of identity and age (and for handguns, proof of CA residency) would continue to restrict residents of other states from buying in CA.
