I think what he means is to Continuously Scroll the Posts instead of have to hit the (View More) after scrolling thru 20 posts.
See bottom right button↓→
Ahh.. thank you.. I get it.. There's two practical reasons..

  1. From a resource perspective its faster to limit to a certain amount
  2. Being transparent, its to load another ad. By opening up a page, another set of ads show up. Majority of users are free ~99%. At one point it was 40 listings for continuous scroll but caused two issues. Higher load and less $. At the time I was operating at a loss and even now, its not a loss but I continue to reinvest to build the site and our marketing and sponsorships. The extra click helps incrementally.
    1. You can bypass 3rd party ads with a membership.

What are your measured metrics on the MORE button being clicked. My experience is most folks have scroll fatigue. Read current view, move on.

Imagine in this case, many will move on rather than hit the MORE button. Curiosity quelled after reading the minimum display of new postings.

Differing ads interspersed amongst the postings that follow after initial screen view can be utilized, or is that beyond your control of this format? I know it exists in the news publishing realm.

Side note: As a one-time hack for a weekly fish wrap, I followed the standard dictum of getting Who, What, Where, When and sometimes Why, into the first paragraph. Then each additional paragraph was added in fashion that the column--string--could be cut without there being context eliminated germane to the prior column inch. No conclusions or summaries.

Now? Teaser articles that purposefully delay the meat of content to entice the reader to scroll through ad after ad. Infuriating to the average reader, an anathema to those former stringers still with us.

I got scroll/readers fatigue after your first paragraph 🤪 I kid! I kid!

ikeo, am proficient enough to navigate and aware of the What's New feature leading to a more robust listing. Just attempting to address the original poster's query.

9mmContagion- Waxing eloquent was once rewarded, now I am chided. What's the world coming to. OMG, I ended that sentence in a preposition.
"Copy editor!"

My humor aside, I took yours as such. Touché, as they say.
