Question Hard Chrome Question

I would assume it could be sand blasted, then finished to whatever you’d like. But I could be wrong. I’m just a dumb machinist turned pipefitter
 
Getting it "un-plated" is not the issue, it's just going to need to be sent out of state. No one in Cali will handle that process, probably due to hazardous waste of the chromium.
 
I had a 1911 years ago, previous owner had hard chrome the slide. I had the slide re-blue, I was never happy with the end result. I ended up selling the gun. I would cerakote it or buy a different slide and have it re-blued. My .02's

According to the gun smith that handled my chromed gun, it would require grinding or sanding enough to get fully underneath the chrome layer. And that would ruin the slide-to-rail fit.

Did you actually try to contact them? I called about two years ago to get a quote on something and they answered the phone. Wasn't firearms related so don't know if they still do them.
