Decent deal for $200?

Not bad of a deal for the price.

Ballistic Advantage is owned by Aero Precision (some may argue they're a step below AP), which is widely popular in the AR15 building space. Toolcraft is the OEM supplier to BA, AP, Palmetto State Armory - again; reliable trusted brand, but it's not your Gucci Daniel Defense BCG.

I've always been a fan of .223 Wylde; if you're planning to shoot both .223 Rem and 5.56 - I think it give you the best of both worlds. 5.56 barrels can always shoot .223, but you should go the other way around. The only downside of the BA .223 Wylde barrel - it may be heavier than most barrels out there (in case you're trying to build a lightweight AR for 3-gun).

I'd say go for it.

The price you paid is a steal - keep us posted on what you actually get.

As far as what to do with it, check to make sure everything is tight. Send a couple rounds downrange. As long as it shoots well with good ammo, enjoy the hell out of it.

If you bought it for $200 with the bolt carrier group and charging handle then you got an excellent deal. If you added those after the fact it's still a decent deal. Is this the upper that was just recently for sale in the marketplace for $240? If so I considered buying it myself then realized I have 15 ar's sitting in my safe at home that I don't shoot and I'm turning into a hoarder

When it comes to most tools such as torque wrench and others buy quality once and it will last a life time. I wish I had learned that earlier in life but at least I learned it sooner than later.
