CMP 1911

I remember reading somewhere on the Calguns forum that you could do a public records request to get records on where the CMP 1911s have been. Does anyone know/remember how to do that?

3. All requested information must be filled in to the right of the colon on each line.
4. Ensure you place a dollar amount to the right of the colon in the last line or your request will be unperfected and returned for update slowing the response time. (Suggest $25)
5. One weapon per request with a limit of 6 open request.

Interesting that they have a fee. Depending on what they charge for, I'm not sure that's legal under FOIA. I use to work for a public agency and the only thing we could charge for was reproduction and shipping costs. Staff time could not be included - even if it took us days to compile the records.

I'll give it a go.

I assume you could do the same thing for any US military firearm? 1903s, M1 Garands, ...

They only charge a fee if the investigation take more than a few hours. Never heard that anyone has been charged.

Any US firearm.. remove the NSN for the 1911A1
I've also heard it may be best to remove the NSN completely as it may have changed over the life of the firearm

No, NSN is not stamped on the firearm
