Change your fiber optic rod

This is so basic it's definitely not "gun-smithing" but after 5 years rocking the same fiber optic sight on my gun, I finally used one of the extra rods I had. Why did they send them with the sights? To change them, my idiot self realized. The new rod is like 4x brighter. So if you have a fiber sight on the front and it's been through 5 years of outdoor range days and a few thousand rounds, change it.

I are smart.
