+1 for any of the Schmid triggers. They come under a variety of brand names, but they're all made in the same shop. Both the single stage and the dual stage are excellent.

Yes, a 2 stage would be best. If it's for precision shooting then you might actually consider the SSA-E after all. And yes, TriggerTech is another good company. I'm not familiar with that particular trigger, but the company has always had good reviews.

Best is subjective. It's going to be different for everyone. I like the Gissele Super Dynamic 3-Gun triggers and have them on two of my BCM rifles. On my third BCM I have the Super Dynamic Enhanced.

I have both Larue and Geisseles. I definitely prefer the Larue -- especially for the price ($85 when on sale). That said, I have one Larue straight trigger that I can't stand. Not sure what the deal is with it, but it's heavy and fairly rough. I should probably send it back, but haven't gotten around to it yet.

SSA-E is the gold standard. Highly recommend. While technically it is a 2 stage, it is so light and smooth it can also be used as a single stage just pull a little harder, doesnt take much to turn in into a single stage.

The MBT is a great trigger as well.

Nowadays I just use reduced power springs on a standard trigger. Never had a malfunction from using light springs.

For precision shooting the Geissele SSA-E is very hard to beat. The second stage is very light and crisp, but it allows you to do the take up on the first stage to really get a very light crisp break for your shot. I used the lighter spring with mine to give it an even lighter pull. The install pins do help to make installation a lot easier as well. This is the one I use for my AR with a scope to reach out for longer precision shots.

For most of my ARs the SD-3G single stage trigger is very hard to beat for fast shooting. The reset and break is excellent for rapid fire or even slow fire. However the 2 stage helps me to stage the pull for the best precision break.

I would say that they are very $$$, but if you shop around and wait for deals this time of year you can typically get them around $150 or maybe less. I normally find Primary Arms to be a good source.

Only thing is that there are so many of their triggers, make sure to get the right one and options. They also now have an SD-E which has a flat bow as opposed to the SSA-E curved bow.
