BCG that works with Aero EPC9 lower (ejector)?

Bought an Aero EPC9 complete lower and upper (separately) with a Faxon 9mm BCG. The stock ejector is not ejecting. Is there a 9mm BCG (besides Aero) that fits and ejects without having to fool around with it?

I've watched some of the YT videos on how to potentially get this to work but I just don't want to go through that right now if I don't have to.

Also, I have too many other projects right now to spend too much time on a PCC build.

Am I in for a lot of pain, one issue after another? Should I just get something else that already runs for now?

I use a battle arms development 9mm blow back nitride bcg in a 16 inch 9mm aero upper with an aero epc lower. I didn’t need to do any tweaks or anything to get it to work. I didn’t even know faxon 9mm blow back needed tweaks to work with aero epc 9 lower ejector.

Did you have to do anything with the ejector or did it work, drop-in?

Is your barrel the older non coned aero barrel or the newer production with the coming/beveling for better feeding?

BTW that's not dust or dirt, just reflection from the flash
Looks like the newer one on the right.

So you are having ejection issues only; or also feeding issues?

What buffer weight system are you using? Buffer tube length is carbine length?

The ejector on a epc9 is in the lower not the bolt so changing the bolt won't do anything most likely. The one annoying thing about those aero lowers is the ejector isn't adjustable as-is, it has a hole in it that the adjustment bolt goes through. You can cycle the bolt slowly by hand and look into the chamber at the bolt face and you can see how the ejector sits in relation to that little notch it goes through on the bolt, generally when it's not ejecting it's because the ejector isn't high enough in that notch. It's possible to bend the oem aero ejector up a little bit but it is difficult because it's thick and stiff. The easiest thing would be to replace it with one that doesn't have a hole in it , if it was easy to get one, which it isn't lol. But this video explains the process. The aeros are excellent lowers and this issue can happen on any ar9 lower, once you get it adjusted it will be great I wouldn't sweat it too much, ar9s are a little finicky but when you get it dialed its nice.

So I've yet to fire any actual rounds. I purchased a complete lower and a complete upper. After cleaning it and testing feeding with dummy rounds, it wasn't ejecting them consistently. Maybe 1/5 would actually eject. The extractor (from the Faxon) BCG grabs the casing just fine.

I think maybe go and fire some actual live quality factory loaded saami spec rounds in Oem Glock mags first and report back? The blow back action may actually help eject it just fine when actually firing vs dry function testing; kinda like a .22lr semi auto blowback pistol with an extractor that doesn’t grab all the case all the way……

If there are any issues then ejector alignment may be needed as @Deleted member 16735 posted video 62.

Here is 65 with heat involved.

If you are only testing on the bench, then your testing method is the problem.
You can not static test a dynamic system.

Go live fire test it before you do anything else.
You can not simulate the live fire forces/speeds on the bench with your hands.

The extractor on a blowback gun is only for holding fired cases to the boltface and for extracting live rounds.
The extractor does NOT pull the fired case out of the chamber.
A blowback gun operates from the gas pressure inside the case pushing the bolt rearward so the extractor's job is only to hold the cartridge case from moving forward off the boltface until the ejector can strike the case and pivot it out of the boltface.

When you play on the bench, you are PULLING the case out of the chamber with the extractor and that is NOT how the gun cycles in live fire which is why everything works different on the bench than in live fire.

Ended up working out when actually firing or no?

@AR15barrels Shooting you email so I can send you some money for your advice and the knowledge you shared.

I finally went to test fire and [hopefulle] zero today. It worked perfectly fine. Thanks so much!

I found some ejectors from a third party and was dreading installing them, on a brand new all OEM rifle. I was very upset that it didn't work out of the box and was concerned that as soon as I started messing around it would cascade into a host of other issues, potentially costing me even more money but most importantly time.

I really appreciate that you told me WHAT I was doing wrong, WHY it was wrong and HOW the blowback system works.

As much as I like to DIY and figure stuff out it's great to have adults in the room every now and then 😅
