Bay Area HK gunsmith?

May get some trigger work and other stuff done for my VP9 but I want someone who really knows HK guns to do it.

I could ship it off and I know of some reputable guys elsewhere in the country, but was wondering if there was someone here?

I dunno Bay Area. But triggerwork.net Springfield turn around is like a week. He usually gets the work done the day after he gets the frame/slide.

The go to guy for HK work is James at Teufelshund Tactical. Very reasonable rates and very good work. If you go to the HKPRO forums he’s usually the one that gets recommended first.

yeah he's "the man" but very very busy.

The options seem to be

Lazy Wolf - some early problems with the trigger but seem to have been resolved. Used to work at Gray Guns

Gray Guns - looks nice, but a more involved trigger job. Haven't heard anything bad

Teufelshund Tactical - the man, but long waits.

The problem being I am not a hoarder, I have one handgun. So I don't really want it to be sitting waiting for months. That may change soon as I am thinking about buying a carry gun (although doing CCW just seems like too much of a headache where I am and I don't really need it.)

Seems like the best option is to just wait until I buy another handgun first. But I think if I end up buying a VP9SK for future carry purposes, I would want it to have the same trigger as my VP9L. Ugh - no good options here.

FWIW the turnaround time for me with Teufelshund was about a week. This was a couple months ago. Worth asking him to see if maybe he's freed up currently.

actually got a question about that. my impression was that mostly he restored/repaired. does he "mod" as well?

Not to dissuade you from doing it, but what is wrong with the trigger as? And if this is your only handgun id wait until you have another.

The desire for relentless tinkering mostly...

But I think I will get another handgun first, and maybe a shotgun. And then there is always a second rifle.

I do HK trigger parts kit installs and tuning with around an hour turnaround, while you wait.
I am in the Los Angeles area.
