Bay Area gunsmith for PDP mag disconnect removal?

I don't know where people get them, but I have installed several of the Walther Dynamic Performance triggers so they are out there.
They all came kitted up in the plastic box with the cutout foam and installation manual.

I was able to use just a roll of tape for one of my PDPs but the other required the block. I would just go with the block from the start

Also if you follow the videos, if you're not changing out the trigger, you shouldn't need to remove the rear pin or mess with the sear housing

I like how in the first video he just taps out the slide stop. Yeah right. Hahahaha

Ok seeing how much they’re retailing for now, I will say that I don’t think it’s that much of a massive improvement over the stock trigger. It’s definitely really nice, but in my opinion not “$190 + shipping & taxes” nice. I had picked mine up in the $150 range, which was about as much as I’d be willing to pay for an upgraded trigger.

I tried to grab one for you at $110 but unfortunately it was already sold. If you’re patient enough, you can probably find one eventually here or at gafs, or maybe if they come back in stock during a holiday sale.

Of course, if you have the money to burn, go for it, it’s definitely one of my favorite triggers

My PDP is currently at Accurate Arms in Livermore. I usually do these types of things myself, but with the difficulty of removing the slide stop I decided to have them do it. They forewarned me that they have done several of them and about half of them end up broken. Got a call and my frame ended up cracked. They contacted Walther and a new frame is on the way, they're covering DROS fee if needed. Their gunsmith tried to find the DPT but unavailable everywhere, so he's just doing the disco removal. The factory trigger is great so not worried about it. I had purchased the disconnect delete plug from eBay and the gunsmith was very happy with those in aluminum, he said the plastic ones not nearly as good. Will report back when it's done.

How did your PDP turnout? How much was the cost from Accurate Arms?

Accuracy Arms in Livermore does good gunsmith work. I use them.

It turned out ok I guess.
When they cracked the frame, they ended up sending back the entire gun, including my aftermarket sights ($100) and the aluminum mag disconnect delete that I had purchased ($50). Unfortunately I didn't find that out until it was ready to be picked up. On top of that, I decided while it was there to have them do a dark camo cerakote of the slide, sent him a picture of the color scheme and they said they could do it. I got a call from them on a Thursday and said it was all done, so I asked if I could pick it up the next day and asked what their hours were, said 9-4. I took a half day off the next day and waited outside of the shop for an hour and a half, along with another guy that went there all the way from SF. They were opening late that day but didn't post a sign on the door or on their website. Wasted an extra day reDROS'ing, then that day (45 minute drive each way for me). I went the next week and picked it up. They used a plastic disconnect delete plug, no Truglo tritium sights and the camo cerakote was nowhere near what I had requested. Ultimately, they only charged me for the cerakote, we're somewhat apologetic. Really nice folks, but in the end I will not recommend them. I'm currently having the cerakote removed and done in graphite black by Ryan Sagisi. He doesn't do a lot of gun stuff anymore but I've known him a long time and he's taking care of me. Good luck.

They broke your frame, but then they at least paid for the replacement frame & DROS but they lost your expensive parts in the process and didnt replace those and the paint job was so bad you are having somoene else un-do it and they were not open for pickup when they told you they would be and that's ok?
That sounds like a horror story to me.

Any recs? I thought I'd be indifferent to the mag disconnect, but the dry fire and field strip workflow is really annoying. I live in the East Bay, but I'll go out as far as Livermore or South Bay

We have used Chad at Precision Gunsmithing alot. He is fast, affordable a d reasonably priced.

Our guns sat there untouched for almost 3 weeks, i picked it up, took it to Precision, and he had them done the next day, half the price.

I ended up removing it myself. It was actually a lot easier than I expected. Took me maybe about 15 min at most from disassembly to reassembly.

Now I'm considering doing the same thing with my Shield X, but I'm a bit wary about replacing whatever spring that came with it with a pen spring or something. Seems a bit odd and unsettling, but that's probably because I haven't researched and understood the safety mechanisms yet.

That sounds like a horror story to me.

It wasn't what I had planned on and I am a very patient person. The cerakote job was decent, but nowhere near the color scheme I had asked for and had given them sample pics of. I'm sure they're a really decent business overall so I'll leave it at that.
