Has anyone else tried the adjustable pre-travel trigger from OC Custom Triggers?I needed an OEM trigger bar and came across their adjustable trigger. Having never tried an adjustable trigger before, I decided to buy one with the bar. I've been tinkering with a G17 Gen 2 I picked up a couple of weeks ago.
My experience:
The trigger works well. I also purchased an "over-travel eliminator" housing and a Gen 5 ejector. Combining these with a Ghost "Unit" connector, a 6lb trigger spring, a 4.5lb striker spring, a reduced-power plunger spring, polished internals/plunger, and nearly zero pre/over-travel, I achieved a 2.8lb trigger pull.
The trigger breaks with a distinct "click," followed by an instant, solid reset. It's pretty wild! Dry-firing is fun, but I wouldn't recommend running it fully zeroed out, especially with a reduced-power safety plunger spring. It definitely doesn't feel safe for dropping.
After some adjustments, I settled on a setup with comfortable pre- and over-travel, using a 5lb striker spring, a 6lb trigger spring, and an OEM plunger spring. The trigger now breaks at 3.3lbs with a super clean break and a fast, solid, audible reset. I really like it now.
That said, I wouldn't feel comfortable carrying adjustable parts in a defensive weapon.
This build is for a range-only gun. I also have a .22lr upper with a green dot that runs great, which should be a blast for double taps and mag dumps
