1911 Gunsmiths in the SF Bay Area?

Jardines grease is top of the line. I’m blessed to have called him a friend. I’ve got a couple of those 1911s with his name on it. Also got his Bridgeport mill an a few other things from him. Before he passed.

I was fortunate to have taken a number of classes along with John back when Louis Awerbuck was alive at Reeds (Louis taught there about half a dozen to dozen times a year). I also took a 1911 maintenance class from Jardine in 2011 at Reeds. I also would bump into him from time to time at the Chabot range. Great guy and my brother used to know him quite well in the early 90s. I was very sad to hear of John’s passing. I had wanted to have John make me one of his 1911s that would pay tribute to Louis Awerbuck but John passed away at a relatively young age of 70. Any idea what he was ill with? The obituary didn’t state. Jardine gone, Awerbuck gone, Chabot range gone; sigh, sucks to be getting old.

I use white lithium grease from Home Depot. I use it on all guns -- 1911's, Glocks, SIGs, shotguns, etc. I had a 1 oz tube of Wilson Combat grease that lasted 10 years. Home Depot's Lucas Oil grease tube contains 8 oz, so I'm good for 80 years!

Lithium grease was a product developed out of WWII and if I recall correctly helped machine guns run well. It sounds like a good choice for firearms in general.
